Directed by Natsuko Yonezawa, Miriam co-devised and performed in MESS at the Belconnen Art Centre in 2020.

Based around the Japanese concept of Hikikomori (the phenomenon in which people elect to be socially and physically isolated), the physical theatre work explored ideas of isolation and solitude, something very prevalent to the year of the works delivery. Mess employs physical theatre, dance and live sound composition and plays experimentally with the shadows and light found in isolation and self-made mess
